Find Out Why Reviews Matter

Why Reviews Matter

As many of you know, authors today often need to do much of their own book promotion, and honestly, that can feel daunting. One of the best ways you can help is by leaving a review!

November is my birthday week, so I think this is the best time to ask for reviews.

If you’ve purchased and read either of my books on Amazon, I would be so grateful if you’d take a minute to go back to the book’s Amazon page, leave a brief review. Even just a quick star rating (3–5 *) really helps!

I am not far away from launching my book "The Color Blue," and the reviews will help draw attention to this one as well.

Your feedback not only brightens my birthday week, it also helps more readers discover my stories. Thank you so much for supporting my writing journey! 💙

Why Reviews are Important

  • Getting Amazon reviews is very important for a book's success because they provide social proof for

readers, help boost sales and influence the Amazon algorithm, which affects visibility and search ranking.

Having a higher quality and quantity of reviews is crucial for a book to be noticed by both potential readers and the Amazon system.

My Author Page

  • Social proof and credibility: Reviews act as social proof, signaling to potential buyers that the book is worth their time and money. Readers are more likely to take notice of and buy a book if they see that many others have read and reviewed it.
  • Impact on algorithms: Amazon's internal algorithm uses reviews as a factor for ranking and suggesting books.
  • Increased sales: Reviews can drive sales by increasing the book's visibility in search results and making it more appealing to potential buyers who see a strong review profile.
  • Marketing and promotional opportunities: A robust review profile can qualify a book for special promotions, and even help it get included in "Customers who bought this also bought..." sections.
